Meet the Officers

Derek Curling

Derek Campbell

President

Derek started curling when he lived in Seattle, WA at the Granite Curling Club.  He also used to curl at the South Shore Curling Club in Bridgewater, MA.  After moving back home to Portland, ME, he and his wife, Jen, decided to bring curling to Portland and started Pine Tree Curling Club in 2015.  Derek also serves as our Grand National Curling Club representative.

Vice President of Membership

Jen also started curling at the Granite Curling Club in Seattle, WA.  She has been a great supporter of Derek's idea of starting a club, and she actively participates in all of the club's events including organizing the league night, Bonspiels, and she is the Pine Tree Curling Club's DJ.  Jen currently works at Maine Medical Center as a Physical Therapist.

Secretary

Jim joined Pine Tree Curling Club in 2016.  He participated in one of our Learn-to Curls, and he found that curling was a great fit for him. He played during our Spring/Summer league and curls with us in our Regular sessions.  Jim currently works at the Portland Seadogs, responsible for Finance and Game Day Operations.

Zoram Curling

 Zoram Blancas-Ruiz

Vice President of Communications

Zoram started curling in 2015 after attending a Learn-to-Curl session at the Mount Washington Valley Curling Club in Conway, NH. He also attended Pine Tree Curling Club's Learn to Curl events, and he fell in love with the sport.  Zoram has participated in various Bonspiels and volunteering curling events in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine and Colorado.

Steve Nolt

Treasurer

Steve started curling when he was younger when he lived in Canada.  Steve is an avid supporter of the sport of Curling, he lives in Portland with his wife and kids. He works in Boston a couple of days a week, and telecommutes the rest of the time.
